Mubarak and Kristen were married on May 4th, on the Disney Dream cruise ship The Outlook. Their wedding was so magical that it was even featured on Disney Fairytale Wedding’s official blog!

Disney is particularly special to these two because of the role it played in their proposal story. Mubarak had originally planned to propose to Kristen on her birthday in Key West, but Hurricane Irma had other plans. Since Kristen had always wanted to see Disneyland—and both of them wanted to go to San Diego—they instead packed up to go to Disneyland.

The first night, thick marine fog kept Mubarak from his planned beachside proposal. And the next day at Disneyland, on Kristen’s birthday, Mubarak was mortified when the ring fell out of his backpack while they were going through security! Even though Kristen tried to play it cool, Mubarak knew the surprise was ruined. He didn’t propose that day and spent the rest of the vacation looking for a way to surprise Kristen. Finally, on the last night, when Kristen had more or less given up on getting the magical moment during their vacation, Mubarak took Kristen on a walk on the beach. There, he gathered up stones and made an “I heart you” message out of them before he got down on one knee to propose.

A Magical Wedding

These two are perfectly made for each other. There was nothing better than watching Mubarak’s face LIGHT up when Kristen and her mom walked into the ceremony. He had the biggest smile I have EVER seen, and it was so sweet to watch him looking at his sweetheart!

The Perks of a Disney Cruise Wedding

One of the best things about cruise weddings is the unique timeline. You have all the time in the world on a boat (or Disney’s private island) to get the pictures you want. For me, that means I can schedule photo time in the golden hour and at sunset without as much stress and effort. I know I’m going to get great light and great locations over the course of the cruise! Besides, it’s impossible not to have a stress-free time when you’re on a magical Disney cruise.

Castaway Cay

The day after the wedding, we had a special photoshoot on Disney’s private island: Castaway Cay. We got off the ship as soon as we were able to and raced to the beautiful beaches of the adult section: Serenity Bay. Kristen looked amazing in her shorter dress that mimicked her wedding gown and even brought out her rose gold Minnie ears for the occasion. We had a mini photoshoot before going off to relax and enjoy the white beaches of Castaway Cay. My second shooter, Maria, and I even enjoyed a massage in one of their cabanas on the beach. It was heavenly!

My Disney Family

Even though I didn’t know Mubarak and Kristen before the wedding, I feel like we became family on that cruise. They both have AMAZING people supporting them! I can’t thank them enough for trusting me with such a big event in their lives. I will forever be grateful for the friendship and love that they showed me and Maria. And of course, I want to thank Disney for pulling off a memorable, magical three-day wedding cruise!
