Sarah & Nick’s Duquesne University Wedding

Sarah and Nick were married on August 18^th 2018, with a ceremony and reception at Duquesne University.

Nick proposed to Sarah while she was planning a birthday party for him at the Pittsburgh Winery. She was rushing around trying to get everything ready for the celebration, and in the meantime, Nick was back at the apartment, prepared with cards, photos, and candles! Sarah had no idea that she’d actually been planning her own engagement party for weeks, but once he proposed, the birthday party turned into exactly that!

Nick and Sarah’s Duquesne University Wedding

Sarah and Nick wanted their wedding venue to have some real sentimental value, which is why they picked Duquesne University. Both of them went to school here, so they felt a real connection to that place. That on its own made the pictures fun—but then, while we were doing portraits, one of Nick’s old professors walked by! I love it when things like that happen.

We were also able to get some amazing photos at the end of the night, with a great view of the sunset and Pittsburgh’s buildings. It was also nice for Sarah and Nick to take a few minutes and get a break from all the stress of the wedding and party and remind themselves of how much they love each other and why they were getting married in the first place. Moments like that are what wedding photography is all about.
