John & Melissa’s Wedding | The Mansion in Butler

John and Melissa were married on September 15th 2018, with a ceremony at St. Ferdinand’s Church and a reception at the Mansion in Butler.

I loved their engagement story: They were at a family picnic with Melissa’s family when John decided to put a ring in a water balloon during the annual balloon toss. They were about to win the toss, too . . . and then the balloon popped all over Melissa! Still, even though she was soaked, she felt like a winner. He proposed to her right there in front of her family—as well as her three best friends that he had arranged to bring out.

That story totally matches the two of them. They are so much fun—and so laid-back. They even had the best meal I’ve ever had at a wedding—bar none! They had Olive Garden, Pizza, and Chick-Fil-A! How amazing is that?

I also adored the venue they chose for their wedding. I love the Mansion in Butler! Anytime I get to photograph there, I can feel my creativity let loose! We made sure to take full advantage of the setting with an outdoors first look and then some amazing photographs at the golden hour and sunset in the woods. I love how they turned out!

Thank you, John & Melissa, for a fun wedding and the best wedding meal ever! I hope you had an amazing time in Kauai. Thanks also to my second shooter, Manny, for your help getting some beautiful photographs.
