It was a beautiful day in May when Dana and Scott were married in a beautiful ceremony at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Pittsburgh with a reception at Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe in Canonsburg, PA. It was such a pleasure to be the wedding photographer for their beautiful spring wedding.
Dana and Scott’s St. Bernard Catholic Church Wedding
Scott and Dana are such a sweet couple and I loved being able to photograph the love that they share. I asked them about how they got engaged and Dana shared the story. Scott had been traveling out of town. He told Dana that his flight wouldn’t be arriving until 10pm… so, Dana went out for the evening. She went to happy hour with her mom and sister and Scott surprised her in Station Square where he proposed.
Fast forward to their beautiful wedding day on May 18. My assistant, Lizzy and I took pictures of Dana and Scott as they prepared for the day. Dana had a first look with her father that really tugged at my heart strings. The reaction he had when he first saw his little girl in her wedding gown was so moving! I love father daughter first looks, they are filled with such tender, sentimental moments.
Once everyone was ready, we made our way to the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Pittsburgh for the ceremony. This church is truly magnificent. It was an unbelievable backdrop for their wedding photography as Dana and Scott said I do. Honestly, the way the light streamed in through the towering stained-glass windows was truly breathtaking.
A Fun-filled Hilton Garden Inn Stonepoint Wedding Reception
After the ceremony, we did wedding portraits outside with the bride, groom and their wedding party. Then it was off to the Hilton Garden Inn Stonepoint for their wedding reception. This couple had a GREAT party. Not a single person sat down the entire night. The dancing just kept going and going. It really was a great crowd of people who really loved Dana and Scott! Not to mention, it was the first time that I have ever heard “Old Time Road” at a wedding, but I have been obsessed with it since then!
Dana and Scott shared that their advice to other couples planning a wedding would be to plan as far in advance as possible. Dana’s favorite part of wedding planning was dress shopping. Scott’s favorite part of the wedding planning process was picking out the alcohol for open bar—which is not only a fun task, but an important one!
Scott and Dana, thank you so much for asking me to be your wedding photographer. I am so happy that I was able to be a part of your fun wedding day. I hope your honeymoon in Antigua was amazing and I wish you both the best of luck in your new life together!
