Liz and John are such a lovely couple. They had a destination cruise wedding aboard the Disney Dream, and I am thankful that they chose me to be their wedding photographer. I love photographing destination weddings, and when the venue is something like the Disney Dream, it only adds to my excitement. It’s classy and could prove to be a delight for any photographer.
[h2] Disney Dream Wedding Photography
Though I had photographed a few events aboard this cruise ship, I knew this one was going to be special. I could tell that Liz and John’s attention to detail mirrored my own heart, and they truly thought of everything. Right from the start, they treated their guests (and me!!) to custom welcome bags that were full of essentials, snacks, and other goodies. It was amazing!
On the day of the wedding, we did hit a little road bump. Liz and John were slated to get married on Wedding Pointe on Disney’s Private Island Castaway Cay. We got to the beach at 8 am and headed to Serenity Bay (the adult-only section of the beach) for a first look and portraits around the island. We planned to end the hour near the venue on the beach, but as fate would have it, the clouds opened up for a tropical rain. But I DID manage to get one of my FAVORITE portraits while it was raining! The couple was hiding under the bar and I just had to take that shot.
Since the weather decided to play tricks on us, Liz and John promptly decided to go with their plan B, which meant getting married in the atrium of the ship. This change truly calmed down my nerves, and I couldn’t help but appreciate the grace with which Liz handled the situation.
The atrium of the ship was equally gorgeous, and then we had the cake and champagne inside the Pink lounge, which was insanely beautiful. To wrap up the day, we did some portraits around the ship, on the millennium falcon, and outside on the deck.
