Amanda & Shawn’s Pittsburgh Marriott City Center Wedding

Amanda and Shawn had a beautiful December wedding just before COVID hit the world. Their ceremony was held at the historic Heinz Memorial Chapel in Bellefield Avenue, Pittsburgh. It was such a lovely sight to watch these love birds say their ‘I dos’. After the ceremony, Amanda and Shawn hosted their reception at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center in Washington Place. The event was full of pomp and show. The gorgeous Amanda was glowing, and Shawn looked dapper. The bridal party was all about grace and elegance, but they were also a lot of fun!

My talented associate Lizzy and second shooter Manny photographed Amanda and Shawn’s wedding. They did a marvelous job, and the photos came out to be stunning! Amanda loved her wedding photos so much that she sent us an appreciation note.

Here’s what she said: “I just loved every aspect of my wedding, including the planning, believe it or not! And by planning, I mean specifically with you, Lizzy and Manny. You made the process completely stress-free and FUN. From the engagement shoot to the wedding day and all the details in between. It’s so obvious that you all have a true passion and love for what you do. Lizzy and Manny were incredible. I cannot say enough wonderful things to express how wonderful they were to work with! They were patient, kind, funny, down to earth, and professional. They made things comfortable and fun for us, our bridal party, and the family. Shawn and I were so grateful to have you as a part of our fairytale day.”

Amanda’s Advice to Future Brides

In her appreciation note to us, Amanda added some great advice that can help many brides-to-be. So I decided to share it with you all here. She said, “I stressed over other plans and details. I remember so many people telling me not to get upset or worry when things don’t go as planned on our day. Sure enough, there were things that didn’t go as perfectly as I had imagined or planned. It seemed big at that moment until I walked down the aisle and suddenly nothing else mattered, except that handsome man waiting for me. That’s my one piece of advice — Don’t sweat the small stuff, and don’t stress over things that are out of your control. Focus on the day and what it means. In the end, it’s all about LOVE! Another piece of advice that I’d offer to those getting married is to take out 10 minutes during the reception. Sneak away from everyone, but stay close enough to still be able to see everyone, as they dance and celebrate YOU. I remember stepping outside with Shawn, and we just stood there watching (the guests) as we held hands. It was an intimate and cool experience to see all of our loved ones celebrating us.”
